Cloche 8876

55 500

Description

The Cloche de Cartier, originally designed in the 1920s and reissued in the 1990s, features a yellow gold case and a silvered dial with a sunburst-style guilloché pattern. This reference, 8876, marked by the pre-2007 Paris stamp, is part of a limited edition of 200 pieces, underscoring its rarity. Named after the French word for “bell,” the Cloche’s distinctive silhouette showcases Cartier’s innovative design philosophy, blending high design with classic aesthetics. Notable early pieces include a 1920 watch-brooch and a 1921 platinum and diamond wristwatch, with the official yellow gold Cloche wristwatch debuting in 1922. The 1995 model uniquely doubled as a desk clock, and the Cloche has since become part of the Collection Privée Cartier Paris, with the latest edition released in 2021. Reference 8876 is distinguished by its Art-Deco style Arabic numerals, offering a vintage feel compared to modern versions with Roman numerals. Its symmetrical design allows for easy reading on the wrist and as a desk clock, making it practical for various activities. The Cloche de Cartier 8876 is a standout addition for collectors interested in unique cases and innovative time-telling designs.
